Since I know how much you all loved the monster cookies from the Tour de Corn, I figured I would share the recipe with you guys…

12 Large eggs

2lbs brown suger, firmly packed

4 cups white sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 tablespoon corn syrup or golden syrup

8 teaspoons baking soda

1 lb margarine, softened

3 lbs peanut butter

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 lb M&M’s peanut chocolate candy

1lb Reeses pieces

18 cups quick oatmeal

Mix ingredients in a large dishpan in order given. Be careful, many wooden spoons have been broken during this step so make sure you have a durable one. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes and enjoyyyy

The Tour de Corn was a huge overall sucess. We had over 160 riders participate in the ride, which is the most we have ever had! It was great seeing all of you out on your bikes! All the proceeds from the ride were donated to the Chatham Jaycee’s.  Hope you all enjoyed the ride and the cook out afterwords (how about them brats?) and we look foward to another sucessful ride next year.

The three Tour de Corn routes have been finalized and are all marked.  The actual mileage for the routes are 60.2, 30.6, and 22 miles.  The 60 mile route consists of three legs with rest stops between each.  The 30 and the 22 mile routes consist of two legs with one rest stop.   Here are the google maps links to each route in case you want to study the routes:

Congratulations to Adam Sergent and Jacob House on their big wins this last weekend in O’fallon, IL.  Jacob won the State Championship Road Race in the Juniors 10-14 on Saturday and Adam won the Cat 5 Crit on Sunday.  Way to go Team Wheel Fast.

After a very wet season last year, I think we are finally going to be able to ride mountain bikes this year on Monday nights!  We will leave Wheel Fast around 6:10 as soon as we can get the shop closed and get changed.  If you want to meet up from Springfield and don’t want to ride all the way to Chatham, meet us on the Interurban Trail at the south entrance of the trails on the south side of the Lake Springfield at around 6:20.  Hopefully the trails won’t be too muddy.  Dust off those mountain bikes and come ride off road with us.
